Tom Perez is not a cop, victim advocate, politician, or celebrity. He’s a dad with three grown daughters and nearly 30 years of community work that includes small business, youth sports, local church, and non-profit leadership. In 2010, Tom began engaging in the anti-trafficking fight and quickly noticed that while men are the primary drivers behind demand, very few were practically involved in the fight to abolish it. The Everyman Protecting Innocent Kids Project is his attempt to bring men to fight the demand for prostituted persons. Through a creative collaboration with Portland Police, EPIK has succeeded in making nearly 5,000 buyer contacts this past year. Tom believes this initiative holds great potential for engaging men as allies in the fight to end demand.
